IFI Foundation Gains Global Recognition for Stroke Awareness Campaign

Awarded “Highly Commended” by World Stroke Organization for World Stroke Day 2025 in the Low and Middle Income Country Category

IFI Foundation has been recognised by the World Stroke Organization (WSO) for its sustained public health efforts on stroke awareness. The foundation’s World Stroke Day 2025 campaign, “Spot Stroke, Save Lives”, was awarded the “Highly Commended” distinction in the Low and Middle Income Country category, recognising the impact and reach of its awareness initiatives.

The recognition reflects the campaign’s strong public health approach, effective awareness communication, and its ability to engage diverse audiences through both digital outreach and grassroots engagement. Through a combination of campus programmes, public awareness activities, and social media initiatives, the campaign reached people across different age groups and communities, encouraging early recognition and timely response to strokesymptoms.

The recognition marks an important milestone in IFI Foundation’s growing public health work and strengthens the organisation’s commitment to building awareness-driven health programmes and meaningful collaborations focused on stroke prevention and early action.

IFI Foundation focuses strongly on youth awareness at universities and colleges because young people are not merely learners, but influential changemakers who can drive awareness on stroke within families and communities. Through awareness sessions, outreach programmes, public pledges, and educational campaigns, students are actively engaged in taking the message of stroke awareness beyond classrooms and into everyday life. By training students to recognise the early warning signs of stroke and understand the importance of timely medical care, the initiative is building a generation of “Stroke Spotters”, informed and responsible citizens committed to a healthier and stroke-aware society.

The recognition from the World Stroke Organization is also a shared achievement for every institution, health expert, volunteer, student, and partner associated with “Spot Stroke, Save Lives: A Public Health Outreach Campaign on Prevention and Management of Stroke”, a flagship programme of IFI Foundation since 2023. More than a series of events, the campaign represents a sustained effort to make stroke awareness part of everyday conversations and community action. As the initiative continues to expand, IFI Foundation remains committed to strengthening health literacy and encouraging timely action to reduce the burden of stroke in communities.
